The clear top coat helps prevent Glitter from flaking and fading, while maintaining the Glitter’s radiance. It provides protection for many surfaces including: wood, metal, wicker, glass, ceramic, pottery, Styrofoam®*, paper, plastic and more.

Painting Conditions:

• Use outdoors or in a well-ventilated area such as an open garage. Use when temperature is between 50°F (10°C) and 90°F (32°C) and humidity is below 60% to ensure proper drying. Avoid spraying in very windy, dusty conditions. Cover surrounding area to protect from spray mist.

Preparation:

• Remove loose paint and rust with wire brush or sandpaper. Lightly sand glossy surfaces. Clean with soap and water, rinse and let dry. WARNING! If you scrape, sand or remove old paint, you may release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. Contact the National Lead Information Hotline at 1-800-424-LEAD or log on to www.epa.gov/lead.

Painting:

• Shake can vigorously for one minute after mixing ball begins to rattle. Shake often during use. If mixing ball fails to rattle DO NOT STRIKE CAN. Contact Rust-Oleum®. Hold can upright 12-14″ from surface and spray in a steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Keep the can the same distance from the surface. Keep the can in motion while spraying. Apply 2 or more light coats a few minutes apart.
• Dry & Recoat Times based on 70°F – 50% relative humidity. Allow more time at cooler temperatures. May recoat at anytime. Dries to the touch in 20 minutes and to handle in 1 hour. Fully dry in 24 hrs.

Clean-up:

• When finished spraying, clear spray valve by turning can upside down and pushing spray button for 5 seconds. Clean up wet paint with Xylol or mineral spirits.
• Throw away empty can in trash pickup. Do not burn or place in home trash compactor.

Clogging:

• If valve clogs, twist and pull off spray tip and rinse it in a solvent such as mineral spirits. Do not stick pin or other object into the stem.
